Cornyn couldn't wait. Not 24 hours after swearing up and down that he would support Trump's nominees, John Cornyn backpedaled.

"Republican Sen. John Cornyn (Texas), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said he 'absolutely' wants to see the House Ethics Committee's report on former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) after his nomination for attorney general.

"'I think that there should not be any limitations on the Senate Judiciary Committee's investigation including whatever the House Ethics Committee has generated,' Cornyn told reporters Thursday."

That doesn't sound like support to me. Why, on November 12th, he said this in a Dear Colleague letter:

"As we look to 2025, we stand ready to work with the President's team to prioritize Cabinet and national security nominations early so the floor isn't consumed by Democrat-driven delays of critical personnel whom the President and the country need in place."

He put those words in bold in his letter, not me. And President Trump's pick for Attorney General is certainly one of those people the President and the country needs.

A beautiful aspect of Trump's election is the transparency we see among the rest of DC. His bold agenda pushes those in Washington to either be for his agenda (standing with you and me) or against his agenda (standing with the swamp). Cornyn has chosen the swamp.

You may not like Gaetz because you may not care for his manner. But the aggressive Biden administration took a run at Gaetz on phony charges and decided not to prosecute him. There was no "there" there. And if there were, you know Biden's DOJ would have done it.

So, here's John Cornyn. Texas, you either support the people our President wants at his side to fight for you, or you stand with John Cornyn.

Personnel is policy, and Cornyn prefers the swamp that President Trump and Matt Gaetz want to drain.

Which puts many in Republican leadership here in Texas in an unfortunate position.
