I went to Vegas with my parents in 2009 or so, and while we had a lot of fun seeing a few shows (such as ventriloquist Terry Fator) and going to the dam, the trip was soured by the filth that was everywhere in the street.
All along the main drag, these cards with half-nude women were everywhere. Sales creeps offered them to us. We refused, of course, but the cards were ubiquitous. You couldn't avoid seeing them.
Later, Las Vegas passed an ordinance to try and clean it up. While that's nice and all, I didn't care. I've never been back and don't care to go back. Once was enough for me. The closest I get to Vegas now is watching the UFC on TV.

That's what Facebook has become. In the image for this post, you can see my activity begging FB to "show less" and hide its persistent posts of half-nude, AI and real women. Me, I just want to look for a few posts from friends. Facebook has other plans for me. I even went into settings and said that I wanted less graphic images. That was a week ago, and here we are. It's incessant. It's perverse. It's like walking the Vegas strip and having to avoid the smut pushers on the street. I never followed any of these accounts, and I never asked for this.
So I've made a decision: outside of posting OP links, I'm done scrolling FB pushing past soft porn just to occasionally see you. I don't know what your experience is, and hopefully you don't have this issue.
I use the Opera browser with FB because I don't do anything else with that browser. That way, FB knows nothing of my life. Perhaps it's making a guess, I dunno. Nicole is frequently in my office and sees it and it offends us both. It's so unnecessary. But algorithms don't care about you, me, or our preferences...
Maybe FB makes a ton of money from this sort of thing? If so, it's a lousy way to make money.
Earlier today, I thought I'd broken through. I took a break, hopped on FB, and instead of scantily clad women, I saw a bunch of Norman Rockwell painting posts. Progress! Or so I thought. The next time I went back on, I was on the Vegas strip again.
No thanks. I'm done with browsing FB. Makes me thankful I created this space here at OP. Like I said, I'll go on and post a link to my articles here, but I've had it with Zuckerberg's monster. It's out of control and a plague on society.

Dang. I thought my unrelenting dog food and vegetable grater ads were bad.
I thought he was ending the fact checkers but was fact checked this week. Zuckerberg wants to Elon so bad but has no concept of how to be a decent human, his bubble is small.
You are not wrong. It has become a cesspool of filth and propaganda. I'm too old and blind to learn new media though. I am still proud to say I have never downloaded the FB app
I know what you mean.
I don’t see a lot of that, thankfully. Just the friend requests from bots. I trust few of those requests so my circle doesn’t expand much. I appreciate your opinion papers. Do keep putting the reminders on FB, please. I’m all over different platforms trying to find fellow conservatives in my house district and I’d likely miss them without those reminders.
I agree. I don't know why it floods my feed with this junk and I'm getting ready to dump the whole rotting mess.
I have put a couple comments about the filth that they put on Facebook and I said Zuckerberg does not need that kind of money. I wonder if he lets his children see that stuff it’s disgusting.
I’m hate to hear this. This must make you fear violated. Very seldom do I get on FB any more and feel fortunate I have never experienced this.
Meta is loaded with untruths and hate so I do not care to see this.
Thank you Brett for creating OP
Thank you Donna :)
It's a shame... what was once a good thing has become garbage. But that's okay - we move on!
Zuckerberg's "repentance" is only to do with "fact checkers." He still has a cesspool business of lowlifes that doctor the algorythms of decent postings. They still slow every single negative posting I have of Dade Phelan and all positive pro Trump postings. I would like to see somebody like Elon Musk buy GAB. It looks like it could be the user friendly one we need to communicate socially and politically. Thank you Brett.
I agree 100%! I tried reporting them as often as I could, but it does no good.
Sorry you are experiencing this. It’s horrible. I get lots of recipes. 12933582059792650391293358205979265039
I see a lot of that on Insta and X actually. None on FB. Don't know what to say except use another browser.
